Dear Ayla,
We are delighted to contact you regarding the next World Kidney Day which will be on Thursday March 10, 2016.
We would like to thank you for your amazing and continuing support of World Kidney Day. March 12, 2015 marked the 10th year of this truly global awareness campaign. Its success would not have been possible without your tremendous energy and efforts.
The theme of the 2016 World Kidney Day Campaign is: Kidney Disease & Children: Act early to prevent it!
Kidney disease affects millions of people worldwide, including many children who may be at risk at an early age. It is therefore crucial that we encourage and facilitate education, early detection and a healthy life style in children, to fight the increase of preventable kidney diseases and to treat children with inborn and acquired disorders of the kidneys worldwide.
In the attached document you will find the look and feel of the new campaign, an overview of some of the major results of WKD 2015, and many other news and initiatives that are available for next year.
Two new members of the WKD Steering Committee – Dr. Kamyar Kalantar-Zadeh and Dr. Julie R. Ingelfinger - have joined the campaign. We are very proud to have them on board and we are sure their contribution will make WKD 2016 an even bigger success.
We are excited to start this new campaign and we hope we can count on your active collaboration again. For World Kidney Day to keep growing further and reach more and more people, we need your involvement!
As in previous years, the WKD Campaign team will be in regular contact with you in the coming months. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact Agnese Ruggiero, WKD Campaign Coordinator at agnese@worldkidneyday.org or Rik Bollaert, WKD Campaign Manager at rik@worldkidneyday.org.
Best regards,
